Fire Safety Engineering

Fire Safety Engineering is a relatively new discipline. The need for qualified fire protection engineers in Canada and around the world has increased exponentially during the last decade. Ongoing projects include the study of the performance of wood and steel connections in fire, modeling the response of timber floors to fire, investigating fire spread from one building to another. A new project focuses on evaluating the impact of fire suppression systems in tunnels on the performance of the ventilation systems.
