Water Resources Engineering

Hydraulic research activities include experimental and numerical work in river engineering, coastal engineering, and hydraulic structures. Areas of research include field evaluations of river processes including sediment transport, turbulence, mean currents, and riverine habitat; hydrodynamic and sediment transport processes in coastal and estuarine environments, groundwater and contaminant flow, dam failure modelling, developing design criteria for novel stream-bank protection structures, development and assessment of hydraulic instrumentation such as acoustics and DGPS, analysis of flow and sediment transport in channel bends, coastal structures, hydraulics of bridges, dams, urban drainage systems, tsunamis.
