Research Areas
Structural Engineering
Research in the area of structural engineering involves experimental, numerical, and analytical investigations of the behaviour of reinforced concrete buildings and bridges, composite structures, steel structures and pipes, and wooden structures. Areas of research involve earthquake engineering, structural dynamics, finite element and boundary element methods, service life prediction of reinforced concrete structures, concrete durability, wind engineering, fire safety engineering, blast resistant structures, computer aided design, risk analysis, fluid structures interaction, retrofit and rehabilitation of existing structures, and smart structures.
